Happy Holidays!

I’m not one to send Christmas cards, though I do love to receive them, and those that know me know that I also don’t decorate. 🤷‍♀️😬

It’s not my jam.

I used to feel guilty, lazy, and a little bit like The Grinch tbh, until I realized there are many ways to spread holiday cheer.

Now, I do me and don’t worry about what everyone else does or what I “should” be doing.

The beauty of being an individual. 😉

But honestly, my wellbeing responsibility requires that I pick and choose what works for me and what doesn’t. Doing it all is exhausting, so I don’t.

Simple as that.

This year I wanted to dive into a Greek family tradition — making holidays treats — to share with my clients and neighbors.

This brought me so much joy!

Being in the kitchen with my mom and my niece Alexis was the biggest gift of all.

We laughed so hard we cried, the kind of belly laughs that make your cheeks hurt and your abs sore! Most importantly, we spent time together. Alexis and I got to spend time with my mom and her yiayia, learning the “tricks of the trade”.

A priceless gift.

Though I think Alexis may have to carry the torch, my baking skills are subpar. Yiayia agrees 😉.

Beyond the kitchen, it is as so much fun sharing these treats with clients and then hearing about how much they enjoyed!

My mom’s baklava is THE best, I must say.

So however you choose to spread holiday cheer, may you find the joy that this time of year encourages!

But remember, balance is best.

I know it’s easy to fall into the holiday grind, but be sure to take care of you, too. 🫶 … a twenty minute power nap goes a long way, same for a few minutes of deep breathing, and green soups and herbal teas are an easy way to nourish your body in between events.

Making wellness a true part of your life means never putting it completely down. By all means modify, adjust, but do not set it aside.

It’s in these times that honoring your wellness boundaries is crucial.

It’s how I’ve made taking care of myself a constant habit, something that now feels natural and rhythmic.

I didn’t learn this rhythm by having an “on again off again” relationship with my wellbeing, but rather, by sticking with it, even when it’s challenging.

I encourage you to hold yourself and your wellbeing close as you make your way through the holiday season. Prioritize your body just as you prioritize the other things you value so dearly in your life.

Your body is your greatest gift of all.

Wishing you all a fabulous holiday and a wonderful new year!

May you all find peace, love, health, and joy in 2026!

❤️ Vas

Ps… I’m not sure if you noticed my mom’s handwritten, OG recipes. I love it. Maybe I’ll translate and share in another newsletter. Lmk if you’re interested.
