I love having dressings and marinades in my fridge made with fresh and flavorful ingredients to jazz up any meal! I made this one last night and had to share!
Ingredients:
3 thumbs turmeric root, peeled
2 thumbs ginger root, peeled
2 full sprigs of basil (or substitute with cilantro)
About 1/4 cup olive oil (or avocado oil)
Lime juice (to taste)
Coconut aminos (to taste)
2 spoonfuls of honey
Crushed red pepper (optional, for added spice)
Method:
Place the following ingredients into a food processor:
3 thumbs of peeled turmeric root
2 thumbs of peeled ginger root
2 full sprigs of basil (or cilantro if you prefer)
1/4 cup of olive oil (or avocado oil)
1/4 Lime juice to taste
1/4 Coconut aminos to taste
2 spoonfuls of honey
Blend all the ingredients in the food processor until you achieve a smooth consistency.
After blending, pause and taste the dressing. Adjust the flavor according to your preference. If you want more citrus flavor, add more lime juice. If you desire some spiciness, add a pinch of crushed red pepper.
Blend briefly again to incorporate any additional ingredients you've added.
Feel free to get creative and customize the recipe to your liking, using different herbs or spices as desired.
Your dressing is now ready to use.
This dressing pairs well with so many dishes, such as salmon, salads, or grain bowls.
Store any remaining dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should remain fresh for 3-5 days, but always perform a quick smell and taste test before using to ensure it hasn't spoiled.
Enjoy your homemade dressing and the freedom to experiment with different flavors!
