Guided Meditation Tonight at 8:30pm
Read below to learn more about my inspiration in providing these sessions.
Tonight at 8:30pm I’ll be going LIVE for another guided meditation focused on mind-body connection.
I’m inspired daily by the intelligence of my body and the bodies of my clients and I want to share that sense of connection, awe, and inspiration with my community.
Connecting more deeply to my body has completely changed my life. And it’s funny because I always felt that I had great body awareness and connection prior, being a gymnast you have to be pretty connected, right?
As it turns out, there is a world where you can be very mechanically connected to your body — commanding movements that to many others seem impossible, delivering the illusion of mind-body connection. Which is a very different from being intimately connected to your body.
Apparently, I was missing one major huge thing — an emotional connection, a felt connection, a deeper sense of intimacy with my body. Sure, I had learned to do amazing things with my body, endure unimaginable pain and discomfort, perform “tricks” and such. But I hadn’t learned to listen to her. To feel her. In fact, I learned the exact opposite as a young athlete.
At a young age I taught myself to disassociate with my body. To command her. To ignore her. To bypass her desires. To dominate her, even. This resulted in me thinking I knew my body, when in reality, I actually didn’t.
It wasn’t until I truly started to feel her, to personify her, to recognize that we are one on the same team, that I began to see how truly disconnected I was. Now, I spend my days connecting with her, feeling her, learning to listen to her needs and desires. Doing the exact opposite of what I had learned in my youth, trying to control and dominate her.
I did this by shifting my perspective, sitting in stillness with her, and tuning into the very subtle messages she was providing me. It took time and I’m still learning today.
My hope is that these meditations will offer you a pathway to connect more deeply with your body. A place to give you that time, to sit with your body, to connect, and to ultimately develop a deeper relationship and connection to them.
As we move forward, I’ll continue to share my experiences with you, profound instances where I felt this connection growing deeper and deeper, as way to hopefully inspire you to do the same.
See you tonight at 8:30pm LIVE via Substack app.
